Bobby Brown Goes to Rehab Due to Alcohol Addiction
Bobby Brown’s attorney confirmed that the singer-songwriter checks into a rehabilitation center to fulfill his agreement with the State of California, following a DUI arrest in March.
People quoted attorney Christopher Brown’s comments that said “Mr. Brown takes his agreement very seriously and admitted himself three weeks after concluding his honeymoon in Mexico during a break from the New Edition tour. Bobby is doing well and receiving services that comply with his agreement with the State of California.”
Brown’s wife, Alicia Etheredge, had also released a statement, saying “Bobby’s children and loved ones are very proud of him. We appreciate his fans’ prayers and well wishes. Bobby is mentally in a good place.”
The 43-year old singer has struggled with drug and alcohol addiction for many years. He had reportedly been hooked with various substances, including cocaine, crack, marijuana, and heroin. His 14-year relationship with Whitney Houston was eventually marred by drug use. Although he apparently stopped using drugs after his separation with Houston, Brown continued his relationship with alcohol. On March 26, 2012, he was nabbed for DUI after being pulled over in the San Fernando Valley for allegedly using a cell phone while driving.
