The health benefits of meditation is likewise hard to ignore. Most of the benefits have something to do with decreased stress, for example, lower levels of stress can diminish your risk of developing heart diseases. Additionally, some experts say that meditation helps relieve pain associated with certain illnesses.

There are a lot of studies out there showing that meditation can help reduce stress, can help practitioners lose weight and sleep better, and more. Belleruth Naparstek’s Healthjourneys blog features many research studies that show the benefits of meditation. One of the more exciting studies I read on that site showed that patients did better after surgery (and even bled less!) when they meditated. Meditation is really a powerful tool.
