Meth Abuse Leads to Brain Disorders

I just read an article about how meth use by teens can lead to serious long-term brain disorders. It seems that long-term meth abuse in adolescents can lead to symptoms very similar to those of Parkinson’s Disease.

The study was performed on mice which were in adolescence in their development. One group was given a dosage of methamphetamine while the other group was given saline. This seems to be just the beginning of these sorts of tests. So we’ll see what happens next. In the meantime, all we can do is try to discourage meth use among teens. And the best way to do that is with home drug testing kits.
