Sesame Street Birthday

Sesame StreetIt is not the 10th, 20th even 30th Birthday. I guess you can call 40th Birthday of Sesame Street “a big one”. I am not sure how popular the show is today, and who can call themselves the real Sesame Street Generation, but sure many of us have those special Sesame Street moments and memories somewhere in the happy days of our childhood.

The best summary of Memorable Moments from Sesame Street was from Jezebel. Out of the top 10, here is my top three moments:

#1 Because it is a Classic: C is for Cookie

#2 Because it is Practical: Ernie Can’t Sleep:

#3 Because we can all Change: I Love Trash from an Orange Oscar

Influenced by the heavy approval rating discussion on the first year anniversary of 2008 Election of President Obama, I decided to do a quick on the run survey to see the approval rating of Sesame Street in our office. Results explains why this show such a hit: 95% Positive and 5% Negative. When I asked that one guy why he hates Sesame Street when everybody else likes it, his answer was simple .” Because I have food intolerance for sesame”. I wondered, can that be true, Food Intolerance (not Food Allergy, because even though very limited, it is possible to have Food Allergy for Sesame according to an article written by Venu Gangur, D.V.M., M.V.S., Ph.D., and colleagues at Michigan State University in 2005), but food intolerance? And I could not verify that. It might be just a case of trying to be negative (maybe that is why he did not watch Sesame Street when growing up). Sorry Alvin! Unless you prove that, this post will stay.

Happy Birthday Sesame Street ! and Thank You
