Fight vs Mayweather = Random Drug Testing January 21
Apparently, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is serious about the integrity of any fight he will figure in, especially when it comes to drug use. According to a post on 411mania.com, Mayweather will be demanding random drug testing in the form of urine as well as blood tests for all future bouts. This was reportedly revealed by Mayweather Jr.’s advisor and friend, Leonard Ellerbe.
The post quoted Ellerbe: “Whoever fights Floyd Mayweather in the future, that person will be subjected to random blood and urine testing. Floyd is out front, championing this effort to change the way the sport is handled in the future.”
The random blood-drawing “demand” became an obstacle for a proposed fight with Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao, and is expected to become an issue as well for ongoing negotiations that will pit Mayweather Jr. against Shane Mosley. The latter is said to have previous links to BALCO and reportedly used performance-enhancing drugs as he trained for a rematch with Oscar de la Hoya in 2003.
We wonder how that one will turn out. The fight with Pacquiao has ended with most of the fighting done outside the boxing arena – and he did not even have a proven history of drug use. It will be interesting to see how these negotiations will play out, and if Mayweather Jr. will end up in a bout with anyone in the near future.
What all this seems to indicate is that Mayweather Jr. is positioning himself as an advocate for drug-free drug bouts – although there may be those who will think that he is merely dodging an actual bout in the ring.

In 2010, after all we’ve witnessed worldwide with doping scandals in sports, some people still believe there’s no issue? Mind boggling! Boxing needs comprehensive random testing, now. No athlete is above suspicion. Mosley never tested positive, Marion Jones never tested positive, on and on…It’s not sufficient to say someone never tested positive.

After Pac-Cotto fight, Freddie Roach said, “I want Floyd Mayweather”. That means team Pacquiao ask for the fight. Mayweather camp says, “if you don’t get blood test the latest for 15 days before the fight we will not sign up for the mega match. Although Pacman’s team compromises the latest blood test to 24 days and right after the fight with anytime urinalysis but the other camp denied and accuses Pacquiao to be dirty. Enough said, this is an example of a fighter demanding something that the state of Nevade Boxing Commision did not even required but it is in place and if the Commision requires for the blood test, Pacquiao will not have any choice but to oblige, not Mayweather making the new rules. He can negotiate other demand but blood testing is out of his position because he is a fighter not the governing body of the Nevada’s Box commission. That was why the mega fight did not happen.

FLoyd is doing the right thing. Its a shame that everyone thinks its ok for a (fighter)athlete to refuse random testing. Urine test are so easy to pass, ask Shane Mosley. Any Pro athlete that cannot take a random test is suspect. Forget about Floyd for a moment and think, Why wouldn’t Manny wanna show the world that he’s clean when there are so many top athletes using PEDS??? I hope that Manny is clean. I will meet the demands of Mayweather Team ONLY IF the boxing rules and regulations of NSAC are proven to be invalid when it comes to drug testing. If NSAC only requires random urine testing, then who is Mayweather Jr to challenging the SOP of NSAC? Is he the expert for determining whether his opponent is a Roid user or PED user? Everybody agress not he is absolutely NOT! Not even a member of NSAC! So stop making alibis you fools. Pay close attention—-Manny Pacquiao fought his last bout with Marquez on March 15,2008 @ superfeather-weight and he weighed 129 lbs. He then all of a sudden shot up to welterweight to fight De la hoya on December 6, 2008 and he weighed in @ 142 lbs. On the night of the fight, Pacquiao even out-weighed De la Hoya by 1 1/2 lbs. Pac-man weighed 148 lbs on fight night. PACQUIAO GAINED ALMOST 20 POUNDS IN 9 MONTHS. I’m not saying that it is impossible, I’m just saying that given his performance, it’s a bit un-natural. That is not enough to prove anything, but it is enough for legit suspicion. If anyone fails to see that, then they should re-evaluate their level of intelligence. You’re confusing yourself with official weigh-in. Fighters generally drain themselves to pass the weight limit and come in heavier at natural weight during the actual fight.
Pac performs better when he is not draining his weight.

Both Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley were bred to be fighters like a farmer’s prized horse. Both guys grew up with boxing gloves hanging from their crib ceilings. The debating can go on and on forever. The bottom line is neither guy is going to give you an inch – both fighters are relaxed in the ring, comfortable and fluid in such a way that it’s easy to believe boxing pumps through their veins in absence of blood. Mayweather vs Mosley im really looking forward to. Mayweather looked untouchable against the smaller Marquez and Mosley was awesome against Margarito. That fight was 18 months ago and previous to that Mosley looked ordinary against a washed up Mayorga. So is Shane still in top nick? I see Mosley starting fast using his jab to take the early rounds. Floyd usually starts slowly but will take control around round 5. The usual dropping of the shoulder and lightning counter punching will take Floyd home to a points victory and hopefully setting up the fight with Manny.

First, I am not a Mayweather fan…but he can easily outbox Manny Pacquiao, Erik Morales proved that in their first fight and so has Juan Manuel Marquez. A fight between Mayweather and Manny would be a BORING fight not an exciting one. Now Manny vs Mosley would be a great fight between 2 figheters who like to fight. So Im glad the Mayweather fight didnt happen and I hope it never does. I would rather see Manny fight Margarito or Mosley. Let Mayweather keep picking on small guys…maybe he will call out Jorge Arce next! Oh and all you Pacman fans…Oscar lost because of his weight, he had not fought at that weightclass in 10 years!
