Sweetin Passed Drug Test for Custody Case February 10
Jodie Sweetin, best known for her role as Stephanie Tanner in the TV sitcom ‘Full House’, tested clear of drugs, according to her lawyer Wilma Presley. She took a drug test as ordered by the Orange County, California court in connection to her child’s custody case.
The 27-year-old actress, who originally filed for legal separation from her estranged husband, Cody Herpin, is changing her legal separation filing to a full divorce. It can be remembered that she filed for legal separation on November 19 of last year while seeking joint custody of their daughter, Zoie Laurel. Her husband, on the other hand, sought for sole custody when he filed a response on December 4.
Sweetin, a recovering alcohol and meth addict, has previously admitted to a 2-year battle with methamphetamine. On December 17, the court ruled to have Zoie under joint custody and that Sweetin must be supervised while she is with the child after allegations of substance abuse surfaced. She was reported to have been driving under the influence while the child was in the car. Her lawyer has denied these allegations, stressing that Sweetin only had several glasses of wine over a dinner and that she is working on keeping herself clean.
Herpin has repeatedly expressed in media interviews his concern over their child’s safety and has mentioned that Sweetin has abused drugs before and after their marriage. They married in Las Vegas on July 14, 2007 after two months of dating. Less than 2 years after, they were already facing a legal battle over their child’s custody.
Sweetin is actually set to release a book entitled ‘Full of Secrets’ in the last quarter of this year. It will be about her struggle on drug and alcohol abuse after ‘Full House’ ended.
