A barely recognizable Amanda Bynes appeared in court Friday over allegations that she threw a marijuana bong out of her 36th-floor apartment window. She claims that she threw a “vase” and not a bong.
According to NY Daily News, Bynes was found by her building manager, Rudy Toro, smoking marijuana in the lobby of The Biltmore along West 47th Street. He then called the police, who confirmed that they detected marijuana upon entering Bynes’ pad. A police source was quoted, “It looks like she realized they saw it, so she took it and threw it out the window.”
Luckily, the flying bong did not hit anyone below, although police officers were unable to retrieve or find the bubbler.
Meanwhile, Bynes denied the accusation, saying police officers entered her room without giving her a reason. She also denied that she threw a bong out her window. She further aggravated the issue by calling 911 and filing a complaint with the Internal Affairs Bureau of NYPD, citing allegations that the cops were harassing her.
During the court proceedings, Bynes wore a platinum blonde wig, a black sweater and grey sweatpants. She was documented by various media outfits making faces and yelling at reporters.
Bynes was charged with criminal possession of marijuana, tampering with evidence, and reckless endangerment. Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Neil Ross release Bynes without bail, on the grounds that she appear in court in July.

Former Nickelodeon star Amanda Bynes was arrested on Friday morning and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, according to several reports.
The actress, who last appeared in the movie Easy A starring Emma Stone, was arrested at 3 a.m. near the intersection of Robertson and Santa Monica boulevards in West Hollywood. She allegedly hit the rear corner of a sheriff’s cruiser after trying to pass the other vehicle. She was said to have hit the right, rear quarter of the deputy’s car.
The incident only resulted in minor paint damage to both cars, although it led to the actress being pulled over, and, eventually, arrested.
The former star of the series “What I Like About You” was taken into custody at the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station, and spent a few hours behind bars before she was released at around 10:30 in the morning on $5,000 bail.
TMZ reported that Bynes had been hitting the Hollywood party scene, and shared footage taken outside a club on St. Patrick’s Day. A photographer reportedly warned the valet against letting Bynes drive, but the actress and her friend were able to leave anyway in her Range Rover.
Bynes was photographed later in the day in an L.A. tow yard after being released from jail, presumably to pick up the black BMW that she had crashed into the cop car and led to her arrest. She was seen still wearing the same outfit she had on when she was arrested, bottle of water in hand.
