Male Home Fertility Kits Become More Useful

FertellKit_web

You’ve probably heard a great deal about home fertility testing kits for women but were you aware there were also fertility test kits for men? Women aren’t the only ones who need accurate testing to verify where they are when they approach the idea of having children and many men can be self-conscious about asking to be tested by a doctor. An at home testing kit is a great way for men to be able to verify their fertility without feeling embarrassed or overexposed at the doctor’s office.

These newer tests made by Taiwanese scientists, measure the efficiency of sperm cells. Able to tell the sperms ability to reach an egg they offer the user a chance to verify the quality as well quantity (most at home tests of this type only test for the amount of sperm rather than how efficient they are) of sperm produced.

Male fertility tests work by taking a semen sample and testing it for the quantity of sperm cells in the fluid. This tells you how likely you may be to cause a pregnancy based on quantity. Tests that include the ability to gauge motility (the sperm cells ability to reach the egg) also tell you how strong that sperm cell is, verifying if a majority of the cells are weake despite a good quantity level.

How Accurate Are At Home Cancer Testing Kits?

cancerYou probably have heard that there are at home testing kits that can test for cancer. These kits test for prostate cancer, a common cancer in older men.  At home testing kits can signal that there is something wrong with the PSA levels in the urine which can be a precursor to prostate cancer. The at home test kits do not diagnose cancer nor do elevated levels of PSA mean that you have cancer.

Many men who are concerned with their prostate health prefer to test their PSA levels at home, especially if they are on medication for prostate health. Because elevated PSA levels are common in older men and are often controlled with medication, many men seek to see if the medication is working to control the levels by using at home prostate cancer testing kits.

At home prostate cancer tests are made to help those who are concerned with prostate health and only measure PSA levels. They are not meant as a way to diagnose cancer. As prostate cancer is very treatable when caught early, testing PSA levels at home can help some men catch a problem before it becomes a life threatening disease.

Why I Decided To Get An HIV Test At Home

HIV-TestI wondered about HIV and was worried because I had unprotected sex with someone who had multiple partners. I knew that the best chance for treating HIV was to treat it before it turned into AIDS. Not all HIV cases turn to AIDS, which can be deadly if untreated. There is treatment for HIV that works. I did not want to go to my regular doctor for the test so I decided that the best way to test for this disease was to do an at home test.

The test was easy and confidential. I got my results in a matter of days. I was fortunate that the results were negative for HIV. I urge anyone who is sexually active to take and HIV test. Had my results been positive, I could have been spreading the disease further and endangering not only my health, but the health of others.

Testing For Colorectal Disease At Home

cancerYou can check to see if your stool has blood in it by using a simple at home test kit. The same type of test is used often by doctors to check for colorectal disease. The colon cancer test can spot irregularities such as blood in your stool when you use the strips or pads that can be flushed in the toilet. You do not have to handle the stool to see if you have early signs of colorectal disease.

Having a positive result in this type of test does not mean that you have colon cancer. It can mean that you have early signs of a colorectal disease.  Colorectal diseases are easily treated in early stages. In some cases, diet restrictions are often used to control diseases in the intestine.

Using an at home test kit can spot if there are any signs of colorectal disease. Those who use these tests should be aware that they do not detect colon cancer and are merely used to detect traces of blood in the stool. Blood in the stool is symptomatic of many benign conditions as well as early signs of colon cancer.

Using Home Testing For Cancer?

cancerEarly signs of what may be prostate cancer can be detected through at home testing kits. These kits can test the PSA levels in the urine of men who may be at risk for prostate cancer.

It is important for men to know that while the home cancer test cannot diagnose the disease, it can serve as a warning if you are on the verge of having prostate cancer. There are medications, based upon the stages of prostate cancer that can be used to maintain a healthy prostate. It is also important for men to know that having high levels of PSA is not always an indicator of prostate cancer. It is the sign of an enlarged prostate from which most men, as they get older, suffer from.

Someone who is concerned about prostate health or who has a family history of prostate cancer can use an at home test to check their PSA levels. These at home testing kits can also be used to check PSA levels for men who are on medication to maintain a healthy prostate as well.
