Apparently for Lindsay Lohan, six is the definitive number — for now. According to a news source, the troubled actress just checked out of a rehab center in California July 30, and is now scheduled to consult with a sobriety coach so that she can adjust to the real world.

Her three-month stay in rehab stemmed from a court decision this past May that allowed her to avoid imprisonment and instead check herself in a rehabilitation facility for 90 days. The “Mean Girls” star needed rehab time because of an accusation wherein she gave false information to police officers when she was involved in a car accident in June 2012.

Lohan has become the poster girl of child stars who went awry going into adulthood. She has had some misdemeanor offenses in the past, and has checked into rehab multiple times before. In a sense, you can say the actress should already be an “expert” in alcohol rehabilitation and keeping oneself sober.

In connection with this, Oprah’s TV network OWN inked a $2 million contract with Lohan to grant them rights to an exclusive interview with the beleaguered actress. The network’s cameras will also hound Lohan during her bout with alcohol abuse, as part of an eight-part documentary.

Lohan’s next Hollywood appearance is in the film “The Canyons” set for release on August 2.

Lindsay Lohan Admits Using Drugs But Says She Was Never a Heavy Drinker or a Stoner

Linsday Lohan has attracted so much controversy in the past years, but rarely has she talked at length about any of her misdeeds in public. Recently, though, she gave one of her most candid interviews with Piers Morgan, courtesy of the Daily Mail, in which The Parent Trap star revealed the few times she’d taken cocaine and why she thinks rehab is a joke.

“Everyone thinks I’ve done it so many times,” Lindsay said when asked about how many times she had used cocaine. “But I’ve only done it maybe four or five times in my life.”

Lindsay also maintained she’s neither taken heroin nor did LSD, but admitted to trying marijuana and ecstasy. And while many people have probably labeled her as an alcoholic or a hopeless drug addict, she strongly pointed out that she has never been a huge drinker or a stoner, saying it has been a year since she last took a drug. Interestingly, she revealed suffering from Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) which is why she has to take Adderall to calm down.

“I’ve never been a junkie, and never will be,” Lindsay adds. “I just like going out late to clubs with friends and listening to music. Always have done. It’s not that unusual for girls of 26!”

On May 6, Lindsay was court-ordered to serve 90 days at the Betty Ford Center as part of a plea bargain regarding her June 2012 car crash case. However, she thinks that getting lockdown for three months isn’t what she needs, describing rehab as “pointless” and just “like killing time.”

A few months ago, Lindsay’s lawyer attempted to fix her case by telling prosecutors about her interest to deliver public service messages and perform inspirational talks in schools and hospitals and Lohan also mentioned to Morgan that that’s what she believes would help her.

“… I think there are other things I could do instead of going to  a rehab centre that would benefit  me more,” Lindsay said. “The best thing they could  do for me would be to make me go  abroad to different countries and work with children.”

Lindsay Lohan Going Back to Rehab

Lindsay Lohan is getting another opportunity to get her act together. For the sixth time, she will be treated for her substance abuse problems which she continues to deny.

A source told RadarOnline.com that the 26-year-old actress is entering rehab to get treatment for her prescription drug and alcohol addiction.

“Lindsay’s prescription drugs of choice are Adderall and Xanax, and in addition, she consumes large amounts of alcohol — specifically, vodka,” the source said.

Lohan’s attorney, Mark Heller, previously tried to work out a plea deal in order for the troubled actress to avoid going to jail. During Monday’s hearing, Lohan pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges stemming from her June 2012 car crash. In return, she gets a 90-day treatment in a lock down rehab facility. The Freaky Friday star also agreed to undergo 18 months of psychological counseling and 30 days of community service in New York.

RadarOnline’s source is hopeful that Lohan’s latest attempt at getting sober will bear better results.

“The main problem when it comes to Lindsay ever getting sober is her absolute denial that she has any substance abuse issues. Once again, she is only going to rehab purely because it’s a slightly more attractive alternative than going to jail. Of course, there is hope that once Lindsay is undergoing treatment she will recognize that she does in fact have a problem — but given her history, it’s very doubtful,” the source added.

Lindsay Lohan’s Lawyer Writes to Prosecutors About How to Fix the Troubled “Freaky Friday” Star

Is Lindsay Lohan experiencing some sort of epiphany about her life lately?

In a letter sent by Mark Heller, Lindsay’s attorney, to the Santa Monica and L.A. City Attorneys, the actress insinuated that she would be willing to perform inspirational talks as a way of resolving her car crash case without going to jail.

Heller said Lindsay’s dysfunctional family has “deeply impacted her” and caused her to run into trouble with the law — with most of the incidents involving her alcohol and drug problems. He also said it’s impossible to offer Lindsay the right solution in getting her life straightened out until the real problem is revealed and addressed.

To express her sincerest desire to change the course of her life, Lindsay plans to participate in “intensive psychotherapy” and submit herself to “regular screenings.” She also intends to deliver “Public Service messages” and make “periodic visits to schools, hospitals and other venues where she may provide inspirational talks, encouraging children to pursue positive goals and avoid bad habits….,” according to Heller’s letter obtained by TMZ.

What’s more, Heller is considering the possibility of establishing a Lindsay Lohan Foundation that will benefit young people.

Apparently, the judge hearing Lindsay’s case wasn’t happy with Heller’s move. Sources connected to the prosecution told TMZ that the letter has irked the judge because it appears like an attempt to improperly influence the court.

Lindsay Lohan Blames Failed Alcohol Test on Kombucha

It seems that Lindsay Lohan’s penchant for the fermented tea drink Kombucha may have gotten her into trouble – at least according to her.

Ms. Lohan appeared before the court on Thursday for a probation violation hearing, after allegedly failing an alcohol test administered on June 13. The actress was confined to her Venice Beach home, serving a jail sentence, at the time of the test.

Lindsay LohanThe culprit for her positive alcohol test result, according to Lindsay, is Kombucha, a tea drink that has an alcohol content of 0.05%. Kombucha tea is one of the actress’ favorite beverages; her love for the drink, however, led a probation officer to raise concerns early this year, due to its alcohol content.

Kombucha distributor Synergy’s GT Dave was quoted in the past as having said that it may be unlikely that the product may trigger the alarm of the SCRAM bracelet that Lindsay Lohan wore around her ankle at that time.

Luckily for Lindsay, there was not much ado about her positive alcohol test result, as Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner ruled that she did not exactly do anything wrong, according to a report on San Jose Mercury News. Lindsay, it turns out, is legally allowed to have alcohol even while in confinement.

The judge did, however, reprimand the actress for having rooftop parties while under house arrest, saying: “What you are guilty of is extremely poor judgment, having parties on the roof…. Poor judgment is not a violation of your probation.” Lindsay had thrown a rooftop barbecue in her home, and three days before the party, an open wine bottle had been photographed on the premises.

Lindsay Lohan Fails Drug Test — Again

Once again, actress Lindsay Lohan has been ordered to appear before the court, after failing another alcohol test that was given last week. Lohan will appear in court for a probation violation hearing on Thursday.

A feature on CNN Entertainment shared that according to a source close to Lohan’s case, she failed an alcohol test administered on June 13, while the actress was serving a jail sentence by being confined in her Venice Beach home.

lindsay lohanIt was also revealed that a probation report that was released last month indicated that Lohan may still be dealing with issues related to substance abuse.

Lohan will appear in front of Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner, who was also the judge who sentenced her to 120 days in prison, after pleading guilty to charges of stealing a necklace. The actress was allowed to spend a reduced sentence at home, however, since she was a nonviolent offender, and therefore was qualified for a home confinement program.

Steve Whitmore, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff, said the following of the program: “Because of budget constraints and because we’re under a federal consent decree that requires us to curb our overcrowding situation, nonviolent offenders, lesser crimes, get 20% of their sentence.”

But since then, there have been media reports of Lohan partying on the rooftop of her home. In an interview with Life & Style magazine on June 18, Lohan shared that “When my friends come over, they’re not drinking… Alcohol is not in my house, so it’s just not a part of my life.” But five days before that, she reportedly failed the alcohol test.

Parenthood and Substance Abuse: Bad Combination

We’ve had several posts regarding parents – celebrity or otherwise – whose alcohol and substance abuse problems have resulted in not-so-desirable consequences, not just in their own lives, but in the lives of their children as well.
There is one thing that we can conclude out of that: parenthood and alcohol or substance abuse does not mix.

Some people might say that such a thing goes without saying, and that it should be common sense. Unfortunately, such a line of thinking – and way of life – do not seem to be common for some.

A feature on PopEater.com shared a list of what they described as the worst celebrity parents, and among the common factors that these parents had were alcohol and substance abuse.

Michael and LindsayCase in point is Lindsay (Lohan), whose run-ins with the law are nothing compared to those of her father Michael. And despite his endless declarations of concern for his daughter’s future and well-being, one could not help but think that these are nothing more than attempts to surf on his daughter’s celebrity status.

Apples certainly do not fall far from trees, and it is not uncommon to see celebrity children take after their celebrity parents, in more ways than just their talents and abilities. Actress Tatum O’Neal, for instance, talked about underage drinking and drug use in her 2005 autobiography, “A Paper Life.” She also talked about being molested – by her father Ryan’s drug dealer.

Another memoir from the child of a celebrity – “Mommie Dearest” by Christina Crawford, adopted daughter of Joan Crawford – told of physical and emotional abuse, inflicted by an alcoholic mother.

Lindsay Lohan’s Lawyer Says Actress Was Clean While in Rehab

Contrary to claims that 24-year-old actress Lindsay Lohan was either under the influence of drugs or was intoxicated when she allegedly pushed Betty Ford technician Dawn Holland, Shawn Chapman Holley, Lohan’s attorney, said that Ms. Lohan avoided drugs while in rehab.

Lindsay LohanAccording to a report by The Press Association, Chapman gave the following comments in response to allegations that her client was under the influence when she had a row with Ms. Holland: “I had numerous conversations with Betty Ford counsellors and doctors over the course of Lindsay’s treatment there and it was never suggested by anyone that she ever drank or used drugs,” Chapman Holley said. “Her discharge letter from the facility is totally consistent with that.”

Lindsay had allegedly returned to the facility after curfew, and refused to submit to a Breathalyzer test. She is accused of pushing Ms. Holland, and the Riverside County Sherriff’s Department had said that Lindsay was in violation of her probation. The Sherriff’s department also said that Lohan should be charged with battery, but Ms. Holland has decided not to pursue charges.

Sgt. Joe Borja of the Riverside Sherriff’s Department did not comment on whether Lindsay was indeed under the influence at the time of the incident, although John Hall, a spokesman for the Riverside County district attorney’s office, revealed that they expect to receive the findings of investigators within the week.

As for Lindsay, more jail time may be waiting if it is indeed found that she violated probation. She is expected to appear before LA Superior Court judge Elden Fox on February 25.

David Arquette Enters Rehab, Lindsay Lohan Leaves It

Two opposite stories appeared on the same day in the celebrity news circuit, as one celeb enters rehab, while another prepares to leave.

A story on People.com revealed that David Arquette, who separated from wife Courteney Cox in October, has sought help for David Arquette and Courtney Cox“alcohol and other issues.” The announcement was made by the actor’s rep, who did not exactly reveal much; a source shared with People, however, that Arquette was seeking help “for drinking and depression, not hard drugs.” The source went on to say that for the actor, “Rehab was inevitable… He is dealing with a broken heart. He can’t handle all the changes in his life. All his inner demons came out.”

David Arquette revealed on Howard Stern’s radio show that he has been seeing a psychologist once a week, and that his psychologist believed that he was having a “nervous breakdown.”

TMZ reported that Arquette had partied at Beacher’s Madhouse at the Roosevelt Hotel on New Year’s Eve, before checking himself into a live-in facility, which was not named.

lindsayMeanwhile, Lindsay Lohan is set to leave the Betty Ford Center January 3rd. Over the weekend, the actress posted the following tweet, only her third since Thanksgiving: “Today is the first day of the rest of my life ‘The future depends on what we do in the present.’ -Mahatma Gandhi … One step at a time.”

Before she even left Betty Ford, however, an article on the New York Daily News named her as one of the celebs “most likely to be arrested for drugs in 2011.” Oddsmakers gave Lindsay a 7-2 chance that she will be the first to be busted due to drugs in the new year, after shock comic Andy Dick, who was given odds of 3-1. Other celebs on the list were Snoop Dogg, Amy Winehouse, and Paris Hilton.

On Betty Ford Fiasco: Lindsay Lohan Claims She Only Drank Shirley Temples

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan is trying to get her life back on track, but controversies always seems to get in the way. A post on Drug Free Homes shared the most recent news regarding Ms. Lohan, who has been accused of assaulting an employee of the Betty Ford Center, where she is currently staying.

Dawn Holland, a chemical technician, shared her altercation with Lindsay Lohan to TMZ.com, a decision that eventually led to Holland losing her job.

Lindsay LohanHolland had alleged that Lindsay and two other residents of the center were caught sneaking back after a night out. The actress was said to be drunk, and Holland had been asked to give LiLo a Breathalyzer test, which the star reportedly declined – in a rather aggressive way, at least according to reports.

In a feature on OK! Magazine, however, Lindsay refuted Holland’s version of the story, saying that, contrary to reports, she was not drunk. She reportedly only consumed Shirley Temples – which are non-alcoholic – while she had her hair done with friends in Palm Springs. She arrived at the rehab center after that night out at 1 am.

One of Lindsay’s friends admitted that she herself had been drinking, but did not say anything about whether Lindsay also did the same.

Another point of contention was the Breathalyzer test. Holland had claimed that the alleged “assault” was brought about by Ms. Lohan’s adamant refusal to undergo testing. Lindsay, however, claims that she was the one who wanted to take a Breathalyzer test to prove that she wasn’t drunk, but it was Holland who would not allow her to do that.
