“Lost” Star Allegedly Arrested for DUI

Matthew Fox, star of the ABC series “Lost,” was reportedly arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) over the weekend.

The 45-year-old actor was arrested in the wee hours of the morning on Friday, May 4, in Brent, Oregon, where Fox, his wife, and two children live. According to celebrity gossip site TMZ.com, which cited sources from Oregon law enforcement, the “Lost” actor was with an unidentified passenger on a fast-food run when the incident happened.

In a news release from the Bend Police Department, it was indicated that Fox’s car was stopped at the intersection of NW 14th St. and NW Jacksonville Ave. at 2:27 am. He was stopped for failing to drive within his lane and using an appropriate signal. After being stopped, the officer determined that the actor was “under the influence of intoxicants.”

Consequently, he was detained at the Deschutes County Adult Jail. While he was taken into custody and released on the same day, his case has since been forwarded to the Deschutes County District Attorney’s Office.

An e-mail from a lieutenant with the Bend Police Department indicated that all inquiries regarding Fox’s case should be directed to the Deschutes County District Attorney’s Office. A representative of the office, however, said that the police report on the incident will not be shared until after the case has been closed.

Representatives of Mr. Fox have not yet commented on the story, and no response has been received by the Post to a request for comment from Mr. Fox’s legal representative.
